Privacy Policy

DropThen, Inc. ("DropThen," "we," "our," or "us") operates the DropThen macOS application and the website located at dropthen.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our Service, and the choices you have about that information.

By downloading or using DropThen, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create a DropThen account or subscribe to a paid plan, we collect your email address and, if applicable, billing name and payment method (processed by our payment provider — we never store raw card numbers).

Usage data. The app collects anonymized, aggregate usage signals — such as how many files were processed and which platforms you have connected — to help us improve reliability and features. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

Content you upload. Files you drop into DropThen are processed locally on your device or transmitted to the relevant platform (OnlyFans, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) directly. We do not store your media content on DropThen servers beyond the time needed to queue and dispatch a post. Caption drafts generated by AI are ephemeral and are not retained after delivery.

Platform credentials. When you connect a social or creator platform, OAuth tokens are stored encrypted on your local device's keychain. We do not have access to your platform passwords.

Contact and support data. If you send us a message through our contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message in order to respond to you.

Device and diagnostic data. The app may collect anonymized crash reports and diagnostic information (operating system version, app version, error codes) to help us fix bugs. This data does not include your content.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, upgrade confirmations, important service notices)
  • To respond to your support requests and feedback
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • To analyze aggregate usage trends for product development

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your content to train AI models without explicit opt-in consent.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share information with third parties only in the following circumstances:

  • Payment processors. Stripe processes all credit card transactions. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
  • Platform integrations. When you instruct DropThen to post content to OnlyFans, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Fansly, or other platforms, your content and credentials are transmitted to those platforms under their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
  • Service providers. We use a small number of trusted vendors for email delivery, error monitoring, and hosting. Each vendor is bound by a data processing agreement and may only process data as instructed.
  • Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DropThen, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email if this occurs.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (such as billing records, which we keep for 7 years per accounting requirements).

Uploaded media is not retained on our servers after posting. Caption drafts are deleted immediately after delivery to the app.

5. Security

We take security seriously. Platform credentials are stored in your device's system keychain and are never transmitted to DropThen servers. Account data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2 or higher. We conduct periodic security reviews and update our practices as threats evolve.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@dropthen.com.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion. Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
  • Portability. Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction. Object to or request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
  • Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawfulness.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@dropthen.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The dropthen.com website uses a minimal set of first-party cookies strictly necessary to preserve your theme preference (dark/light mode) across page loads. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling on this site.

The DropThen macOS app does not use browser cookies. It stores your preferences and encrypted tokens in macOS system storage (UserDefaults and Keychain).

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Transfers

DropThen, Inc. is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. Where required by applicable law (such as GDPR), we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
